Introducing our new Trustee- Craig Hay

We are delighted to introduce our new Trustee, Craig Hay.

After 15 years living and working in London and Auckland, Craig returned to Hawke’s Bay in 2002. For him it was returning home to a place he spent his formative years of schooling.

Craig’s background is in engineering and marketing, but he entered the hospitality industry by restoring Greenhill, a colonial Hawke’s Bay homestead where he established a luxury lodge. The skills he gained here were later applied to the restoration and operation of the Art Deco Masonic Hotel in Napier. This iconic hospitality venue now employs 100 people and supports a number of Hawke’s Bay charitable organisations.

Craig is a founding Patron and Trustee of MTG Foundation which offers an avenue for gifts, donations and bequests to develop the Museum’s Trust collection for the benefit of the people of Hawke’s Bay.
Craig strongly believes that gifts and future bequests that stay within Hawke’s Bay have a strong connection to the wellbeing of our community.

“Hawke’s Bay Foundation offers a perfect vehicle for those who would like to be part of the numerous positive initiatives within our community helping those who simply need support,” says Craig. “I look forward to helping make a difference.”
