The event was described as ‘the community looking after the community’ and that is exactly what it was.
In November, we had our annual ‘Giving Event’, our only event of the year where we invite our supporters and those that do all the hard work and are successful recipients of our annual funding round. We celebrated funding $121,500 to 47 local community groups across Hawke’s Bay – our largest distribution year to date. It was a special evening as it recognised the diverse groups that work so hard in our community and gave everyone a chance to thank them in person for all that they do and the difference they are making.
Every year we invite a different group along to entertain the crowd and this year we were wowed by the extremely talented children form the Orokohanga Music Trust who displayed their talent with the violins and cellos. They completely stole the show and showed the impact of generous giving.
Over the past five years the foundation has distributed over half a million dollars of funding to more than 150 local organisations. By living here and giving here our supporters really do make a difference.
